WhatsApp has offered custom chat backgrounds, but mainly on mobile devices. The option was also available in WhatsApp Web, the previous desktop application, and the newer native WhatsApp Desktop.

The feature will soon be available now that it’s been found in the WhatsApp Desktop Beta (version 2.2316.2.0), via the Microsoft Store. The staff at WABetainfo, as usual, noticed this update.
With the latest update, the app’s settings should include a “Personalization” option that allows you to choose from various chat wallpapers. These backdrops also allow you to include or exclude doodles.
We expect that the feature will soon offer more color options. This feature is still in its initial stages, as uploading your images to chats is impossible.
WhatsApp Desktop will improve the Personalization Tab after it is released. You can test this functionality by installing the latest beta version of WhatsApp Desktop from the Microsoft Store. Only beta testers can access the app, so anyone expecting a stable version must wait.
