Copycat Dole Whip

This dairy-free soft serve, a longtime fan favorite, was first introduced at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 1984. Across its theme parks, Disney sells around 1 million servings every day.


  • 4 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 2 bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 cup canned unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • fresh pineapple wedges, for garnish

1. Prepare the Frozen Pineapple:

  • Spread the pineapple chunks in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze the pineapple chunks for at least 2 hours, or until completely frozen.

2. Blend the Ingredients:

  • Once the pineapple is frozen, transfer it to a blender.
  • Add the coconut milk, honey or sugar (if using), and lime juice (if using) to the blender.

3. Blend Until Smooth:

  • Blend the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender as needed.
  • If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more coconut milk or water to help it blend.

4. Serve Immediately or Freeze for Firmer Texture:

  • Once the mixture is smooth and creamy, it’s ready to serve as soft-serve.
  • If you prefer a firmer texture similar to the Dole Whip served at Disneyland, transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container and freeze for an additional 30-60 minutes before serving.

5. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Scoop the Copycat Dole Whip into bowls or cones.
  • Garnish with a slice of fresh pineapple or a sprinkle of shredded coconut if desired.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste of this tropical treat!
